We collect information you give us when you make an enquiry, request a quote, book a site visit or become a customer. This typically includes your name, address, phone number, email address, details of the property and the work required, and records of our correspondence. Where we carry out work for you, we also hold contract documents, quotations, invoices, payment records and any certificates we issue (for example gas safety records or electrical certificates).
When you use our website, our hosting platform collects standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, through cookies and similar technologies. If you use the live chat facility on our site, the contents of that chat are processed by our chat provider on our behalf.
We do not sell your information. We share it only where needed to deliver our services or run the business: with service providers who process data on our behalf (such as website hosting, live chat, accounting and IT systems), with manufacturers where we register a product warranty for you, with accreditation and certification bodies where a job must be notified or certified (for example building control notification), and with our insurers and professional advisers where necessary. Where we are required to by law, we may share information with regulators or authorities.
We keep personal information only as long as we need it. Enquiry records that do not become jobs are kept for a short period and then deleted. Contract, invoice and certificate records are kept for the periods required by law and regulation, and for as long as needed to honour guarantees and deal with any issues arising from the work.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to have information erased in certain circumstances, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details above. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, although we would welcome the chance to resolve any concern with you directly first.
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people visit and how they find us, so we can improve the site. Google Analytics only sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) if you click "Accept analytics" on our cookie banner. If you reject, or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set.
We also store your cookie choice, and a note of the page you first landed on, in your browser so enquiry forms can tell us how you found us. These are not shared with anyone.
